In 2024 Carmen began engaging with bioplastic production and investigating how to integrate them in her artistic practice. Some of the first tries consisted of embedding charcoal and dried flowers into the bioplastic.
Currently, she is testing the interaction between bioplastic and screen printing during her residency at Chien Andalou in Brussels, in collaboration with artist Maarten Van Mieghem. Furthermore, Carmen is in parallel working on creating silicon moulds to test the possibilities for three-dimensional works in bioplastic.
